Chaim Achttienribbe

A cello made for my son in 2024, so unfortunately this instrument is not available.

The instrument is roughly based on the sleeping beauty, the famous Montagnana once owned by Piatigorsky.

The advantage of the Montagana model is that it's quite short and a bit wider. It gives the instrument a nice deep warm c string. 

In general I don't like extreme antiquing (although I admire makers who can), but also don't like the new carpaint looking instruments. I usually try to give some life to it and a start for many more dents, scratches and patina that will be added by the player to create the final Gesamtkunstwerk from composer, maker and player.
